Southeastern Indiana Home Sales Rise 28 Percent in June


Homes are selling in Southeastern Indiana! Home sales rose 28% in June as compared to June 2014. Here are the statistics:

June 2015 vs June 2014

  • 28.3% Increase in sales units (136 homes vs 106 homes)
  • 9.9% Decrease in average sale price ($141,115 vs $156,594)
  • 12% Decrease in median sale price ($130,450 vs $148,200)
  • 15.6% Increase in sales volume

January – June 2015 vs  January – June 2014

  • 11.4% Increase in sales units (546 homes vs 490 homes)
  • 5.8% Increase in average sale price ($141,056 vs $133,345)
  • 2.4% Increase in median sale price ($128,000 vs $124,950)
  • 17.9% Increase in sales volume

 

Sibcy Cline’s Southeastern Indiana Sales Statistics:

June 2015 vs June 2014

  • 16.7% Increase in sales units (7 homes vs 6 homes)
  • 17.1% Decrease in average sale price ($195,757 vs $236,167)
  • 12.2% Decrease in median sale price ($183,900 vs $209,500)
  • -3.3% Decrease in sales volume

January – June 2015 vs  January – June 2014

  • 6.5% Increase in sales units (33 homes vs 31 homes)
  • -1.2% Decrease in average sale price ($202,160 vs $204,612)
  • 12.4% Increase in median sale price ($190,000 vs $169,000)

One may notice that the average and median sales prices have decreased. Why? Per Rick McMillin, Vice President/Sales Manager of Sibcy Cline Harrison, June 2014 saw in inordinate number of higher-priced homes sell due to pent up demand from previous economic downturn years. June 2015 sales showed a more normal mix of higher and lower priced homes.
