Following the lead of Great American Ballpark’s makeover for the All-Star Game, neighboring U.S. Bank Arena is gearing up for a new look too. Renderings of an updated and expanded arena were released July 28th by the owners of U.S. Bank Arena, Nederlander Entertainment and AEG Facilities. Designed by Cincinnati architectural firm MSA Sport, the new design includes a dramatically different exterior that includes video boards and glass walls that offer sweeping views of the river. The concept also includes additional seating, focusing primarily on additional club seats and suites.

A renovated arena could be a huge draw for big stage acts and national sporting events like the NCAA tournament. Plans also include improved access and integration into The Banks and surrounding areas.

There isn’t a specific timeline or budget for the project yet, but the beautiful renderings and potential scope of this renovation will make for an interesting story to follow.
