There is something special about watching a play performance. Each act is unique and no two performances are ever the same. Northern Kentucky is fortunate to offer several venues for local performance theater. Here is our list:

The Carnegie
The Carnegie is the largest (and only) multi-disciplinary arts venue in Northern Kentucky. One can enjoy The Carnegie Galleries, Eva G. Farris Education Center and the Otto M. Budig Theatre at this facility. The domed building was constructed in 1904 as a Carnegie Library and is on the list of National Register of Historic Places. Follow The Carnegie on Facebook.

Falcon Theatre
The Falcon was established in 1989 and produces 5-6 plays yearly. The theatre is located at the Monmouth Theatre in Newport, Kentucky and has presented performances such as Driving Miss Daisy, Grapes of Wrath, Gilligan’s Island, to name a few.

The Footlighters at the Stained Glass Theatre
The Footlighters stages its performances at the Stained Glass Theater  located on York Street in Newport in a former historic United Methodist church. The Footlighters was founded in 1963 and moved to its current location in Newport in 1986. There are three shows produced each year as well as a holiday fundraiser.

Commonwealth Theatre Company
The theater department at Northern Kentucky University offers live performances from the NKU Fine Arts Center with its Commonwealth Theatre Company. Follow on Facebook here.

Kincaid Regional Theatre Company
This theater group is located in Falmouth offering performances through the year. The theater also offers summer workshops for younger thespians. Follow this theater company on Facebook.
