April is fair housing month and 2018 is the 50th anniversary for the Fair Housing Act. To commemorate this special month, Robin S. Sheakley, Sibcy Cline Vice President, invited Dr. Damon A. Williams (a nationally recognized expert on diversity leadership) to speak to Sibcy Cline’s agents about excellence in inclusiveness. This special continuing education course was held at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center where all were captivated by his thoughts.
Dr. Williams shared how to work in a positive, diverse manner. He challenged the audience to think about how they engage with others, be open to experience new ideas, always question things, lead with courage and find solutions “across boundaries”.
He also shared his studies on unconscious bias and how to build relationships with all types of people by treating everyone with a high level of service.
Attendees
In addition to 250 Sibcy Cline agents and employees, other guests attending the presentation included several people from Housing Opportunity Made Equal Cincinnati: Jeneice Jones (Executive Director); Deb Jetter (Education Specialist); and Heather Sturgill (President of the Board of Trustees.)
Pam Chute, Vice President Business Solutions/North America for Leading Real Estate Companies of the World was another special guest.
