May Home Sales Report: Greater Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio and Northern Kentucky

May home sales were up for the region. Sales exceeded 2018 figures in all regions. Mortgage interest rates remain low. Cincinnati

Sales increased in May by .7% as compared to May 2018.

May 2019 vs May 2018

  • .69% Increase in homes sold (2,638 homes vs 2,620 homes)
  • 5.39% Increase in average sale price ($230,885 vs $219,069)
  • 5.57% Increase in median sale price ($189,975 vs $179,950)
  • 6.12% Increase in gross sales volume ($609,074,438 vs $573,961,936)

January–May 2019 vs January–May 2018

  • -.78% Decrease in homes sold (9,715 homes vs 9,791 homes)
  • 4.63% Increase in average sale price ($217,293 vs $207,670)
  • 5.92% Increase in median sale price ($178,999 vs $169,000)
  • 3.82% Increase in gross sales volume ($2,110,998,269 vs $2,033,297,402)

Dayton

In Dayton, home sales increased by almost eight percent.

May 2019 vs May 2018

  • 7.84% Increase in homes sold (1,720 homes vs 1,595 homes)
  • 5.96% Increase in average sale price ($181,258 vs $171,061)
  • 7.55% Increase in median sale price ($155,950 vs $145,000)
  • 14.27% Increase in sales volume ($311,763,470 vs $272,842,039)

January–May 2019 vs January–May 2018

  • 2.05% Increase in homes sold (6,212 homes vs 6,087 homes)
  • 5.96% Increase in average sale price ($168,020 vs $158,571)
  • 6.26% Increase in median sale price ($143,450 vs $135,000)
  • 8.13% Increase in sales volume ($1,043,742,673 vs $965,223,185)

Northern Kentucky

Home sales increased by almost six percent in May. Average and median home prices also increased!

  • 5.89% Increase in homes sold (719 homes vs 679 homes)
  • 4.13% Increase in average sale price ($205,608 vs $197,448)
  • 7.06% Increase in median sale price ($182,000 vs $170,000)
  • 10.27% Increase in sales volume ($147,832,258 vs $134,067,803)

January–May 2019 vs January–May 2018

  • -2.74% Decrease in homes sold (2,695 homes vs 2,771 homes)
  • 3.66% Increase in average sale price ($195,977 vs $189,056)
  • 3.67% Increase in median sale price ($171,000 vs $164,950)
