From carnival rides to displays of blue-ribboned pies, county and state fairs are a large part of Americana. This blogger remembers attending the Hamilton County Fair each year and spending hours looking at 4-H animals. (I was always amazed to see that the kids who reared these animals would actually sleep next to them during the fair!) And who doesn’t enjoy indulging in “fair food” – a corn dog, cotton candy or another yummy treat?
