2013 is the 225th anniversary of the founding Columbia Tusculum. Celebrate by marking your calendars to attend the upcoming Columbia Tusculum home tour. A dozen homes as well as a few historic buildings will open their doors on October 13, 2013. Sibcy Cline Realtors is one of the sponsors for this event.
Columbia Tusculum is one of CIncinnati’s oldest neighborhoods and is known for its diversity in home styles from Victorian painted ladies to newly built homes designed to fit in this urban area. The area is minutes from Mt. Lookout, Hyde Park, East Walnut Hills downtown and Northern Kentucky. Many homes offer vista views of the Ohio River.
Columbia Tusculum is a walking neighborhood with lots of local restaurants and shops to frequent. Three parks are located nearby as well as 10 miles of biking trails.

If you are a fan of homes found in older, established neighborhoods, mark your calendar. A public home tour is scheduled in historic Columbia-Tusculum for October 6, 2013. The tour will feature approximately 15 residences.
2013 is the 225th anniversary of this neighborhood’s establishment. It is the oldest Cincinnati neighborhood and many of the homes in Columbia-Tusculum were built in the late 1700s and late 1800s.
The area features many beautiful Victorian painted ladies among other attractive home styles. In the past few years, a revitalization has occurred in the area with beautifully built new homes that fit well among the older homes. Cincinnati’s first Greenarama took place in Columbia-Tusculum in 2011.
Columbia-Tusculum has developed into a walking neighborhood with many local dining and shopping opportunities.

Per NorthPointe Group research service, the construction of high-end homes in Greater Cincinnati increased 35% in 2011. There were 279 home starts for residences priced from $400,000. (There were such 207 home starts in 2010.)
The five developments with the most home starts $400,000 included:

Long Cove in Mason – 11
Cottage Hill in Columbia-Tusculum – 11
Glenview Farm Estates (Foxborough) – West Chester Township – 11
There are two homeshows running this week in Cincinnati.
Greenarama (the first ever!) runs June 17 -19 and June 24-26, 2011. The homeshow is located in Columbia Tusculum featuring “green” new homes. Each home is eligible for a 15-year, $500,000 tax abatement. Homes will have green building products and Energy Star appliances. (All homes are pursuing LEED ceritifcation by the US Green Building Council.)
