There are many great reasons to live in Dayton, Ohio and their local farmers’ markets is one of them. Most of these markets are open throughout the growing season into October, so be sure to check them out. There is nothing that compares to a fresh tomato bursting with flavor.

Local Farmers’ Markets – Fresh Veggies and More!

It’s time to celebrate and enjoy the fresh produce from our local farmers once again for 2012! There are many farmer’s markets throughout our area to visit:


  • Findlay Market
    Over-The-Rhine between Elm and Race Streets
    Year Round. Fresh Produce: Thursdays and Weekends April – November
    This market is open year round, and the fresh foods appear in late spring through the fall. This is Cincinnati’s most famous and Ohio’s oldest farmer’s market. Visit Tuesday – Sunday to visit the indoor merchants selling meats, flowers, cheese, deli and other foods. Thursday/Saturdays/Sundays from April – November offer dozens of outdoor vendors.
  • Hyde Park Farmer’s Market
    Hyde Park Square on Edwards Road
    Sundays 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
    June – October
    Lots of organically grown veggies along with honey and meat.  Enjoy coffee that is freshly roasted while viewing the produce. From goat’s milk soaps and lotions to Italian-style ice cream to baked goods, to treats for your pooch, you will find all kinds of great things to look at and purchase.
  • Wyoming Avenue Farmer’s Market
    Village Green along Wyoming and Oak Avenues in Wyoming
    Tuesdays 3pm-7 pm
    May – October
    Along with shopping for your fruits and vegetables, you can enjoy garden demonstrations, choirs, bands and local chefs! Purchase honey, apples, peaches, pears, plums, grapes, soaps, free-range chickens, pizza, Belgian waffles and many other tempting things to eat!
  • Lettuce Eat Well Farmer’s Market
    Harvest Home Park on North Bend Road in Cheviot, Ohio
    Tuesdays 4pm-7pm; Saturdays 8am – 2pm; Sundays 10am – 3pm)
    May -November
    In addition to produce, you can purchase ready-made food or take-home-supper food, too! Enjoy getting organic, free trade coffee beans, maple syrup, organic cheeses, gluten-free baked goods, jams, chemical-free soaps as well as your vegetables and fruits.
  • Oxford Farmer’s Market
    Uptown Park along High and Main Streets in Oxford, Ohio
    Saturdays, 7:30am -12pm
    May -November
    You will find all kinds of goodies here: meats. chicken/duck eggs, goat cheese, bedding plants and cut flowers. Indulge in sweets and breads from some terrific bakers. Throughout the summer, you will find cooking demos and fun tastings. (Note: This market offers local offerings from December through April every third Saturday!)
  • Madeira Farmer’s Market
    Dawson Road in downtown Madeira, Ohio
    Thursdays, 3:30pm – 7pm
    May 17 – October
    You’re going to find fresh bread, blackberries, strawberries, wood-fired pizzas, organic chicken, pork, eggs and flour along with vegetables “raised the way they used to be”!  Enjoy all of the bounty of nature!
  • Montgomery Farmer’s Market
    Montgomery Elementary Parking lot (9609 Montgomery Road) in Montgomery, Ohio
    Saturdays 9am – 12:30 pm
    May – October
    All-natural dog treats, vintage produce (rhubarb, okra, swiss chard), organic vegetables, eggs and chicken are among the items found at this market. You’ ll also enjoy baked goods, cheeses, organic ice cream and fresh granola.
  • Historic Hamilton Farmer’s Market
    Saturdays, 7am – 1pm
    June 26 – November 3
    Downtown Hamilton around the Butler; County Courthouse  (101 High Street)
    Fresh produce is available along with flowers, plants, jams and baked goods. Look for local artists and organizations showcasing their talents, arts and crafts. “Make It, Bake It, Grow It” is their motto!
  • West Chester Farmer’s Market
    Saturdays, 9am – 1pm
    May 12 – October
    West Chester Town Center Drive (off of Union Centre Boulevard in West Chester, Ohio)
    Organic soaps, gourmet popcorn, dry mixes for dips and spreads, Organic artisan breads and cookies, raw honey, olive oil, organzic breef anx chicken along with fresh produce can be found here

  • Lebanon Farmer’s Market
    Corner of West Main and Sycamore in Lebanon, Ohio
    Thursdays, 3pm – 7pm
    May 17 – October 18
    Fresh, locally grown veggies, pastured eggs and meat as well as bedding plants and baked goods.  Enjoy artisan breads, honey, dry seasoning blends, chocolates, jellies, fresh roasted coffees and special dressings.


  • Boone County Farmer’s Market
    Mid-April -late December
    Open 7 days at week 10am – 5pm
    6028 Camp Ernst Road in Burlington, Kentucky
    Pick up your produce and enjoy food and grilling presentations, too. Be sure to see the “Ask the Garden Experts” booth. All products sold at the market are exclusively grown or processed with materials grown in Northern Kentucky. You will find perennials, annuals, vegetable plants, herbs, fresh baked goods (weekends), fresh beef and pork (weekends) along with the standard farmer’s market produce.
  • Covington Farmer’s Market
    Court and Park Streets in front of the Roebling Bridge in Covington, Kentucky
    Saturdays, 8am – 2pm
    May – October
    Fruits, veggies, plants and herbs are available at this farmer’s market. Plus enjoy the tempting cheeses, gift baskets, dried fruits, preserves, chocolate, pies and many other treats.


  • PNC 2nd Street Market
    Open Year Round
    Thursdays and Fridays, 11am – 3pm; Saturdays 8am – 3pm
    600 E 2nd Street, Dayton, Ohio
    A Miami Valley favorite, this market offers locally grown meat and produce as well as homemade food and craft items. Enjoy the weekly entertainment, clowns and old train caboose! Do your shopping for local fruits and vegetables, honey, bread, desserts, wine, soups and so much more.
  • Centerville Farmer’s Market
    Parking lot of the Centerville Shopping Center at 892 South Main Street, Dayton, Ohio

  • Fairborn Farmer’s Market

  • Greene County Farmer’s Market
