New Home Construction in Dayton, Ohio Rose 25 Percent in May 2013

Blueprint2

People are building homes once more! The Home Builders Association of Dayton reported a 25 percent increase in building permits in May 2013 as compared to May 2012.

This is most permits in one month since 2007. (The peak number of permits was in April 2004.)

What was the busiest area for permits for Dayton? Carriage Trails in Huber Heights in Miami County.

Read more about new construction activity in Dayton from the Dayton Daily News here.

When building a home, it is recommended to use a Realtor to guide you through the process:

  • Your agent is a resource of knowledge for all new-home communities and builders
  • Many area builders value real estate agents and the fact that well-qualified leads are brought to them. The real estate commission is considered part of the builder’s promotional budget and not a negotiable part of the home price
  • Agents provide negotiating power
  • A new home is a huge investment – have a professional there to guide you from understanding the contract all the way to the closing table
